LIME PLASTER

Lime plasters have been used for thousands of years as a building material. At Samas, we continue to use this beautiful material as a wall finish for residential and commercial applications. Our lime systems are suitable for both interior and exterior areas. Lime plaster can be applied over a wide variety of substrates including common drywall and existing painted walls to meet today's building material needs. Lime can be tinted to match desired colors and offers a durable timeless finish.

TADELAKT

Tadelakt is an old Morrocan plaster technique that can be utilized in wet areas like showers to compliment interior plasters and provide a seamless aesthetic. These wall systems provide water repellant and mold resistance using highly polished lime and olive oil soap as the sealer. This finish offers a truly unique bathing experience.

CLAY PLASTER

Clay finishes are an earthy, low-carbon, and healthy alternative to modern-day chemical paints. Clay has a beautiful warmth and natural appearance that can also be easily repaired. These finishes can be applied over drywall or existing painted walls, as well as a variety of other suitable substrates. The clays we use are locally sourced in New Mexico and can be tinted to suit most color palettes.

EARTH PLASTER

Earth plaster can be used as an interior or exterior finish. The raw simplicity of Earth plaster offers a historic beauty. This plaster can be used for historic preservation or as a humble and incredibly low carbon option as a wall finish. All materials are sourced locally in New Mexico and can be tinted if desired. It doesn't get much more simple than dirt + sand + straw + water. Earth plasters are also incredibly easy to repair and maintain with proper guidance and design considerations.

MICROCEMENT TOPPINGS

Microcement is a polymer-modified cement product and that be applied on walls or as a floor topping. These toppings offer a durable and complementary finish to the other plasters we offer. Microcement can be applied over existing tiles or other suitable substrates to create an elegant hand-troweled floor aesthetic.

MINERAL PAINTS

Mineral painted include limewashes and clay paints. These paints can be used as alternatives in place of standard acrylic or oil-based paint while providing a plaster-like appearance on the walls. These paints are applied in thin layers and create subtle variations in color. They can be tinted to meet a color palette. These paints can be applied over existing plaster, drywall, painted walls, or other suitable porous substrates.

LIQUID METAL

Liquid metal can be applied to plaster finishes as an accent or as a stand-alone finish. These veneer metallic finishes come in multiple colors. Whether you are looking for a hand-troweled textured or smooth polished finish these products allow for a wide variety of creative opportunities. Liquid metal can be applied on top of many substrates to enhance the design potential of not only walls but for furniture, doors, and much more.

EARTHEN FLOORS

Earthen floors are a unique flooring option. These natural earth floors are created with locally sourced New Mexico materials and provide a supple earthiness to a space. Sealed with non-toxic oils this is a healthy flooring alternative.
