We were incredibly fortunate to collaborate with talented plasterers, skilled carpenters, and dear friends who helped bring this project to life. From exquisite plasterwork to bamboo craftsmanship, fine Japanese carpentry, and elegant copper shingle roofing, every detail was a testament to the artistry of each craft.

Reel 1/3: The Healing
The Samas Design crew had quite the month of March. We were tasked with healing the walls of this beautiful structure. All inside and outside wall panels needed to be addressed and properly prepared for the new coats of plaster. It has been 60+ years since the original plaster was applied. It was a lot of work and masking to say the least.

In these old adobe homes we plaster and repair, the original curves are some of the most beautiful parts. We embrace the sway and meandering edges. Like gentle streams or fish in water. Not everything has to be flat, straight and square. Be like water sometimes.

We create beautiful lime plaster tadelakt that will last and offer an elegance without any of the synthetics or cement.

Sometimes the long way is the way to beauty.

We create beautiful lime plaster tadelakt that will last and offer an elegance without any of the synthetics or cement.

We had a great time celebrating the Grand Opening of the new @nmccap Resilience Hub.

So grateful to have coated the walls and floor in so many beautiful earthen plaster finishes.

This is an old bank vault that has been transformed into an earthen walled sanctuary for @nmccap. This space will be used as a seed bank and possibly a recording studio for the talented creatives that make up the NMCC community.

The designer, @studio.gp, asked for walls with a lot of textural movement and intrigue to highlight the New Mexico clay earthen walls. The interior lighting accentuates the hand troweled details beautifully. These walls look like they have been here a long time.

A highlight from the @nmccap project is the gorgeous mosaic mural that is going to rest on the earth plaster walls and burst up from the earthen floor in the wellness space. This yucca is a glimpse of the creative vision in the works by the very talented artist @pazpedro.clay. What a beautiful collaboration to be a part of.

This was a very unique project that incorporated many special plaster finishes from lime with straw, clay aliz, earthen floor, raw earth plaster community workshop walls and more. With a wellness center where people can do yoga and meditate on an earthen floor. An old bank vault that will be used as an indigenous seed bank. This space will offer a very special feel for all the fun community activities that will take place within these plaster walls.
